(Warning: long rant)

My liberal friends are completely oblivious about how radicalizing the last week has been for tens of millions of normal Americans. Zero clue.

I’m not talking about people who are “online”; I mean regular, everyday Americans. “Normies.” People who scroll through Facebook posts and Instagram reels from the Dutch Bros drive thru line. Political moderates who have water cooler chats about Mahomes touchdowns and Bon Jovi concerts, not Twitter threads or Rachel Maddow monologues.

Millions of them. Tens of millions. They’re logging on, they’re engaging, and they’re furious.

And I’ll be candid: They blame you guys. They blame the left.

Regardless of whether you believe it to be justified, they think you’re the bad guys here. And they are reacting accordingly.

I can already hear some of you racing toward the comments to start screeching in moral indignation, so I’m going to be blunt: Shut up and listen to what I’m telling you. Your movement will lose any semblance of relevance if you don’t develop some small measure of self-awareness, and—absent someone force-feeding you bitter medicine—you guys collectively lack the humility to do this on your own.

Here are the facts:

Fact 1. Tens of millions of Americans started the week seeing a 23-year-old blonde woman—a young woman in whom virtually every parent watching pictured their own daughter—stabbed in the neck by a career criminal. These people then found out the murderer had been released from jail 14 times over.

Fact 2. Two days later, tens of millions of Americans watched a video of Charlie Kirk get murdered speaking to college students. Millions of these people knew who Charlie was; millions of them didn’t. Upon seeing the video, however, these normal Americans from across the land and across the political spectrum agreed that he was the victim of a terrible, fundamentally unjustifiable crime, and their hearts broke in sympathy for his family. Good people who had never even heard the name Charlie Kirk before wept.

Fact 3. Immediately after seeing the footage of a peaceful young man get shot in the neck, these same people logged onto Facebook and Instagram (remember, we are talking about regular Americans, not perpetually online Twitter or Bluesky users) and saw some of their local nurses, school teachers, college administrators, and retail workers celebrating this horrific crime. Not just defending it, but cheering it.

These are all facts. You may not like the implications of these facts, and we can certainly debate the underlying causes thereof, but, indisputably, they are nevertheless factual statements.

Here’s what it means for you, the Democrats reading this:

These normal, middle-of-the-road, non-political citizens just become politically active. They realized that politics cares about them, even if they don’t particularly care about politics. After watching Iryna Zarutska and Charlie Kirk both bleed out from the neck, they think their lives and the physical safety of their families—the bedrock of human society, the foundation of Maslow’s hierarchy of needs—depend on political activation, whether they desire it or not.

These people are now sprinting—not jogging, not walking, but racing—to the right. Because they blame you guys for everything that just happened.

When they see footage of Decarlos Brown stabbing a Ukrainian refugee to death, they don’t see just one demon-possessed man. They picture every university administrator, HR bureaucrat, and DEI apparatchik that ever lectured them about systemic racism, the “carceral state,” or the need to release violent crime suspects without bail in the name of social justice.

They then think back to conversations they’ve had with their cop friends—their buddy from high school who quit the force after getting tired of being called a racist, their friend at the local YMCA who vents about having to release career criminals because Soros-funded prosecutors aren’t willing to file charges—and they realize everything the left has told them over the last five years has been utter bullshit.

And they blame you. Because, even if you count yourself as a moderate Democrat, your party supported the district attorneys, city council members, and mayors that let fictitious concerns about mental health and racial justice supersede very real concerns for their family’s safety.

When these Americans see blood erupt from the side of Charlie Kirk’s neck, they don’t see just a martyred political activist. They think of every extreme leftist they’ve ever met who (1) calls anyone to the right of Hillary Clinton a fascist and (2) constantly jokes—“jokes”—about punching Nazis and “bashing the fash.”

They realize that there really do exist people who wish to see them dead for their moderately conservative political beliefs, their Christian faith, and even the color of their skin. They ask themselves if the violence visited upon Charlie might one day show up on their own doorstep.

And they blame you. Because, even if you’re just a center-of-the-road liberal, you lacked the courage to police your own ranks. You let modern-day Maoist red guards run loose across every facet of society, and what started with social-media struggle sessions has now turned to 30-06 bullet holes.

When these Americans log onto social media and see their neighbors justifying, celebrating, glorifying murder, they realize that some who walk among them are soulless ghouls at best, literally demon-possessed at worst. These people—whether they faithfully attend church every Sunday or only attend with relatives once a year, on Christmas Eve—start talking about things like spiritual warfare. They implicitly understand that no normal human casually celebrates the mortal demise of a peaceful person.

And they blame you. Because, even if you condemned Charlie Kirk’s murder, they probably haven’t seen you condemn those in your own movement who cheered it on. They view you as complicit in allowing heartless fellow travelers to celebrate death, and it repulses them.

For all of these situations, what has your response been? Nothing but bullshit.

In response to Iryna Zarutska bleeding out on the floor of a train, you post bullshit statistics about reductions in reported crime, when everyone who’s ever been to a major urban center in the last decade knows that actual crime has skyrocketed, only for victims not to waste their time reporting it to cops that don’t have the manpower to respond and prosecutors that seek to downgrade as many felonies as possible to misdemeanor citations.

In response to a 31-year-old man taking a bullet to the neck in front of his family, you post nothing but bullshit whataboutism.

> “What about January 6th?” (Honest answer: After you let Liz Cheney spend two years operating a star chamber in the House, combined with countless other failed attempts at “lawfare” against Trump, no one cares anymore.)

> “What about Mike Lee making a dumb joke on Twitter about some guy in a mask in Minnesota?” (No one outside of Utah, DC, or Twitter knows who Mike Lee even is.)

> “What about Paul Pelosi?” (That’s not comparable to Charlie Kirk getting shot, and we all know it. And, again, Paul who?)

> “What about regulations on assault rifles?” (That’s not going to get you very far when one of these killers used a knife and the other one used a common hunting rifle.)

In response to teachers, healthcare workers, and thousands of other liberals cheering on Charlie’s murder, it’s nothing but more bullshit and misdirection.

> “It’s not THAT many people celebrating!” (Yes, it is. Everyone has seen it on their Facebook and Instagram feeds.)

> “I thought you guys didn’t support cancel culture.” (We don’t cancel people over their opinions; we’re more than happy to see people lose their jobs—especially their taxpayer-funded jobs—for actively cheering on murder, though. If you can’t see the difference, that’s your own shortcoming.)

All bullshit. Not even smart bullshit, but stale, mid-grade, low-IQ bullshit. Ordinary Americans see right through it, and they don’t like how it smells.

You probably don’t like hearing this. But you need to hear it.

Because I’m right, and, as you reflect on this, you know I’m right. The ranks of my political movement gained millions of righteously angry new members this week. We have a mandate to ensure these crimes never happen again, and that’s exactly what we are now going to do.

If you want to keep a seat at the table as we do so, you’d better clean house and start policing your own.

Facebook User1

What they also don’t understand is the effect this past week has had up and down the political spectrum. It has simultaneously done two things:

1. For anyone normie moderate to far right, it has moved ALL OF THEM farther right. It’s not just that independents or conservative Dems are coming to Team GOP; rather, people on the MAGA right and the far right are also moving farther right. This is quite bad for the left, because the he right, which has a tendency to live IRL and not consistently engage in activism, is going to get WAY more active and isn’t going to put up with the left’s bullshit anymore. A leftist tries to cancel us for our views? So what, we’re gonna think of the video of Charlie Kirk bleeding out and we’re not going to be afraid.

2. But probably even worse, is that it has likely further emboldened the 5-10% of the country comprised of far-left freaks. Their actions are going to further enrage normies and the right, and the Democratic Party is going to be in a no-win situation where it’s has to either pull back from its far left base, to likely disastrous results, or continue to lean-in to its far left base, again likely to disastrous results.

well said. add in all the usaid fraud that was discovered, the act blue fraud, the walk-aways that are leaving the left and its really shown to be waking not "a" bear but dens of bears. people got pissed and rightly so.. the lefts reaction to potus dealing with crime in DC and talking chicago and LA also adds to the demise of the left, they are against law and order even after the everyday people talk on camera saying that its needed. so much crazy..... I call it sos syndrome, stuck on stupid.

Wow! Facebook User1, A lot of divisive, inflammatory and incendiary misinformation. I can’t let this go.

I agree with you on one thing right away — both the stabbing in Charlotte and Charlie Kirk’s murder are horrific tragedies. Nobody should ever be attacked like that, and it’s heartbreaking for the families involved. Politically motivated violence sets a dangerous precedent.

I can understand why the right is so upset. He was a true leader and possible successor to trump – respect.

That said, some of the details in the post you shared are a bit overstated.

First, on the Charlotte case — yes, the man accused had 14 prior arrests. But “14 arrests” isn’t the same thing as 14 free passes from jail. Some charges get dropped, some end in probation, some in short sentences. That’s how the justice system works under due process.

It’s misleading to act like judges just waved him out 14 times with no consequences. If we want to fix the system, let’s talk about bail reform, mental health resources, and consistency in prosecution — not just throw out an arrest number as if it proves everything. It’s not as simple as saying “14 arrests = system failed.”

With Charlie Kirk, his killing is a shocking and unjustifiable crime. Most people across the political spectrum have condemned it. It’s true that a few individuals online made horrible celebratory comments, not unlike the comments from the radicalized right when figures on the left are attacked, some would argue it's worse and much much more prevalent from the right and yes your right in some cases, people have faced consequences for that. But the idea that “nurses, teachers, and everyday workers everywhere” are cheering it on isn’t accurate — what we’re really seeing is a small number of extreme voices getting amplified on social media by cosplay political pundits.

Just as troubling, maybe more so because of their wide audience, is Jesse Waters, Steve Bannon, Brian Kilmeade and many other talking heads on the right including trump who are calling for war on the left and locking up all D politicians. Can you imagine the outrage if someone on the right said killing the homeless with lethal injection might be a good idea like Brian Klmeade just recently did.

To me, the bigger issue is: what can we do to prevent tragedies like these? That means looking at real solutions — strengthening community safety, investing in mental health, making sure dangerous repeat offenders don’t slip through cracks, and lowering the temperature in our political culture so violence isn’t normalized.

OR….. I guess we could just crack some heads and lock everybody up. Just like the economy, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see how that works out.

At the end of the day, I think most Americans — left or right — don’t want political violence, don’t want young women murdered on trains, and don’t want to see people celebrating death online. That’s the common ground we should be building from.

Before I offer my retort, regarding my fears before the election.  I’m not going to say I told you so and I’m not going to point out how much worse it is or how much sooner it’s all happening.

I won’t talk about it looking like the leader of our country, undeniably was, if not a pedophile himself at least very very good friends with the most prolific one of our times during the time he was the most active and well after it was common knowledge.

And at the best looked he other way, like all the other enablers and at the worst participated heartily (doubtful as trump is kinda on the prudish side :)

I won’t talk about the “secret” trump mentions in the birthday card with the pre-pubescent girl he drew and signed and gave to Epstein?

I won't mention the girl they shared and trump is on record “paying” Epstein $27K for with a 10ft photographed check (you don’t see that on state run propaganda channels do you - thats why I won't talk about it).

I won’t talk about the excuses everyone is making for his pedo-proclivities (kinda like you're doing in your mind right now and the rest of his friends and the GOP have been doing for years)

I won’t talk about any of the 1000’s of very incriminating epstein emails you may not have heard about on right-wing media that are about to come out that completely disprove trumps timeline of disavowing epstiens behavior, let alone kick him out of MarLago.

I won’t talk about the Amateur Hour our foreign policy has become (and I guess now our FBI too huh - big surprise there)

I won’t talk about RFK Jr and all the eradicated diseases that are already coming back or how soon it took trump to alienate us from the rest of the world and turn us into a laughing stock. putin, Ukraine, NATO, Poland.

Care to debate National Security and the people trump put in position compared to sleepy Joe? or really any measurable metric, financial or otherwise that determines a functioning society.

As you know If we use facts and stats, you can't, or should we just fire all the people at Dept of Labor and Statistics and all the left wing talking heads that trump hasn't silenced. Facts Matter and so does Justice.

I won’t mention all of the people in the middle who voted for trump to fix our immigration policies and lower prices and inflation who are realizing they were conned and all they voted for was a major tax decrease for the rich

And who soon will realize within a couple months (January to be exact) they are either going to lose their health insurance or see it go up by hundreds and hundreds of dollars. (I’m a health insurance agent, I’m already getting calls)

I won’t talk about the civil unrest and violence being fomented from the right that Jesse Waters, Gutfeld, Bannon specifically, and the entire maga ecosphere including yourself, all the loonies from the far right podcasts, like Info Wars and War Room et al, and all the macho militia men gangs, but mostly the Leader of our Nation, by saying we are at war and posting childish Apocalypse Now war memes

It’s almost like he’s trying to incite enough unrest and violence to enact marshal law.

I won’t mention Elon Musk yesterday calling for open violence, saying “Violence is coming for you, You either fight back or you die” What the actual FU@K is he trying to do!!

I won’t talk about trumps absolute inability to unify a nation, I won’t mention every leading democrat I can think of trying to promote peace and unity right now.

I won’t ask what you are most proud of trump doing right now, or if you agree the rest of the Epstein/trump files should be released or if the perps should be protected. I won’t talk about any of that even though lots of people ARE talking….as you know. Because that would be a distraction.

I won’t talk about any of that because I know you have no logical argument anymore and anything you say would be obfuscation, distraction, misinformation, ad hominem attacks or lately just obvious heavy projection. Can’t touch that!!

One murderer doesn’t represent Democrats any more than one corrupt pedo-politician represents all Republicans. Blaming millions of people is just scapegoating and fear-mongering.

Red states actually have much much higher murder rates than blue states. Crime isn’t partisan. – This isn’t up for debate.

Mental health and racial justice aren’t ‘fictitious’ — ignoring them makes us less safe, not more.

begin rant_retort/

OK, Facebook User 1 on behalf of the I’m sure very few OC Dems in your circle who are afraid to….. Allow me to retort.

Yes — the Charlotte case is horrific, Charlie Kirk’s death is tragic and shocking. Social media reactions—some celebratory—are real and disturbing. That’s just wrong.

Yes, the man accused had 14 prior arrests.

Now, I’m sure he probably shouldn’t have been on the street, but let’s not inflame the situation, Ok Scott?

Of course Kirks murder is tragic. But saying “tens of millions” saw the video and wept is rhetoric, not fact. Most Americans didn’t see it, and nobody has actual numbers to back up that claim.

The idea that “nurses, teachers, college admins, and retail workers” were out celebrating Kirk’s death is a massive exaggeration. What actually happened is a handful of people online posted disgusting comments, and some of them got disciplined for it.

That’s not evidence of a nationwide cheering section in everyday professions — it’s evidence that social media gives a megaphone to a few idiots. Pretending it’s widespread only feeds division. We can be better.

So yes, the tragedies are real. But turning them into talking points that generalize millions of Americans and imply one side is full of criminals and the other side are victims isn’t honest.

It’s like saying anyone who supports trump is a pedophile and a racist. If we really care about preventing more violence, we should focus on real solutions — better community safety, more accountability for dangerous offenders, and lowering the toxic rhetoric that makes extremists think violence is justified.

Social media amplifies extreme voices — a few people’ celebrating will often get a lot more attention than the many people who didn’t. That doesn’t justify the celebrating, but it suggests that those incidents may not represent a large fraction.

Let’s separate facts from fear-mongering. First, the tragedies themselves — the deaths of the girl on the train Iryna Zarutska and Charlie Kirk — are horrific, and nobody disputes that.

But claiming that every Democrat is personally responsible for violent crime or social media trolls is absurd.

One murderer does not represent an entire political party even if he comes from a full MAGA family and has pictures of himself online as a MAGA BRO all kitted out in trump regalia like the Kirk assassin does. I DON’T think all maga members are assassins. See how that works.

Second, the claim that bail reform, racial justice initiatives, or concern for mental health somehow “supersede safety” is misleading. Bail reform in most places applies to low-level, nonviolent offenders, not murderers, besides; as you know more murders come from red states than blue. Stop with the crime fear mongering, toughen up or just arm yourself if it makes you feel better, but don’t talk to me about the left being soft on crime, while hastily hired masked ICE cowards cosplay as army men all around the blue states of the US. And who moved Gislane to a minimum sec prison after saying to trumps personal atty “oh trump did nothing he was a boyscout”? (uh oh looks like the emails completely blow that out of the water – timeline anyone 😊) who pardoned all the j6 criminals? Oh yeah donald trump did and moved that pedo friend of his to Club Fed so she wouldn’t sing – too late as you’ll soon see that genie is out of the bottle.

Don’t talk to me about crime, the right has absolutely no leg to stand on regarding crime. Policing our own is laughable coming from a R. Do you remember Al Franken and that stupid LeeAnn Tweeded pic that we kicked him out of congress over, How quaint and what a mistake. Do you want me to name more examples of the left policing themselves, because I certainly can? Do you want me to go down the list of the myriad of republican criminal’s trump surrounds himself with. OK, then would you want to list the criminals that the Dems champion? Can you think of ONE time the right has policed themselves. Take your time. I didn’t think so. Do you see a pattern? I didn’t think so – SAD open your eyes and let your mind go.

Mental health resources are meant to prevent violence, not excuse it. These are tools to improve public safety, not reduce it.

Third, the post assumes that a few extreme social media posts reflect the beliefs of millions of Americans. That’s simply false. Amplified online outrage is not a proxy for broad political ideology or party complicity. I disagree with lots of things the left does. Most Americans, left or right, condemn murder and don’t celebrate it.

Finally, framing Democrats as “complicit” because some people online act badly is exactly the kind of moral panic that divides Americans and prevents real solutions. If you care about safety — I do and you should too — we should focus on actual reforms: stronger policing of violent offenders, better mental health support, and addressing the root causes of crime, not blaming millions of people for the actions of a few.

Are you saying jan 6 didn’t happen? Because it obviously did and everyone knows trump got off on a technicality with a supreme court he installed. Everyone knows he would be in jail if he wasn’t reelected and that wasn’t the case. That is irrefutable so don’t try. It seems your entire identity and online persona revolves around trump and maga – or anti-CA. Yet you constantly lash out about TDS. Project much  😊

You don’t think people care anymore? I think they care a LOT and I think you can see it, and I don’t think you like it, and I think it causes you to lash out and project. One of us will be right about how America feels and one will be wrong. Last time I was wrong, I underestimated how gullible the electorate was and how good of a salesmen trump was. Sleepy Joe and the Harris shit show certainly didn’t help. Everything I was afraid of has already come true so I wasn’t wrong or fear-mongering about of that. I think people gave trump a chance and they see the shit show he has made of virtually everything he ran on, except with the hopefully small faction of extremists who condone his deportation policies. I’m hopeful that now that they know what they look like and knowing it will only get worse as far as a police state goes aren’t stoked with what they see. Are you? Thats another rhetorical question I think I know the answer.

Are you really discounting what happened to Paul Pelosi and don’t think it would compare to losing Kirk if Paul ad died in the attack? That’s a rhetorical question and very telling.

Well, I guess we'll have to wait and see with the midterms – how have the special elections gone so far in all the trump maga regions?

Ok brother Facebook User lets slow down on the hate and tamp down the devise rhetoric and let’s try and agree we are NOT at war, regardless what the talking heads on the right are saying. Just this one time lets listen to the left and focus on unity and solutions.

I couldn't get through it all. I'm NOT sorry to be blunt, but there are too many lies, assumptions and misinformation in your post to correct it all..."tens of millions of people"  😆Is that a "fact". Talk about someone ratcheting up the "rhetorical heat." I'm glad I don't live in your world Scott. I hope the rest of the world doesn't end up reading this or hearing interviews with your roommate on the news. In case people are tempted to believe your rant...here's something showing political violence broken into party's.

I wonder why Trump wants as few people to vote as possible, including eliminating mail-in voting? If what you say is true, Trump shouldn't have to cheat in any future elections and he should want as many people to vote as possible; Every form of voting would be in the Republicans favor...including mail-in voting.

Yeah Ian, I don’t expect much of a response from Facebook User 1, Eventually, he’ll call me a libtard or express his condolences for my TDS.  🙂, He couldn’t defend his positions before the election, how the hell could he now, especially when virtually everything I was afraid of happening has either happened or is about to happen. I wonder if anyone even read the copy of project 2025 I uploaded – doubtful, they just denied it was the plan. not that they would know but it was pretty self-evident for anyone with just a modicum of reasoning. Meanwhile it's about halfway completed and our country is falling apart faster than a trump casino. But crypto is up and the grift is good!!

Look at his FB wall. Could you imagine having your entire identity and persona wrapped around trump and his policies, and then in this short of a period of time, having to try and defend that to anyone except your own small echo chamber?

Our country is turning into an actual shit show. (that’s my word of the day all week - shit show.) Crime, Economy, Groceries, Health Care - RXs, Immigration, Domestic Security, Foreign Policy, Leadership, Morals Anything!?! I just want to have a constructive conversation about how any of that can be better under our current Pedophile Protector, and how it’s worth giving up Scott's morals, common sense, and our democracy and constitution. It's gotta be hard to explain just that alone.

And them BAM!! More news about how inept our new FBI is and the realization that trump is putting some of his woefully unqualified golf buddies and sycophants in some pretty dangerous positions where they are undenibly in WAY over their head. Putin and Russia come to mind. Even Scott can recognize that.

And then the stuff about the BIPARTISAN investigating committee agreeing that NO somebody did not forge trumps sig on the infamous birthday card and sketch of a pre-pubescent girl 20 years ago and hide it in epstiens estate so it could be uncovered and used now 20 some odd yrs later and YES it is trumps sig. and yes there probably will be way more salacious stuff coming out – like it would really matter at this point.

And then to have your guy dig up all this epstein shit on his own that was almost long buried.

I wonder what he’s going to do when the rest of the trump/epstien/Ghislaine emails, and files the committee has are made public. and what?! A pic of topless chicks on trumps lap laughing and pointing at his come-stained pants (that’s unconfirmed, but I believe it and called that they will come out in 30 days about 45 days ago) I think we'll see if BOTH eptiens and his autobiographer is telling the truth.

Will Scott disavow trump and stay as a maga member or just give trump a full pedo pass mulligan like he did for the Hollywood Access Tapes.

And now he's got 2 left-wing bros start talking common sense on his own FB page. That’s gotta suck.

It’s scary. He actually believes the violence is coming from the left more than the right. Now or in the last 10 years when absolutely every metric says otherwise, unless your guy fires the person who reports that metric. Which trump actually did. In addition to firing the head of Labor and Stats, he fired the people who study Domestic and White Supremist/Nationalist Terrorism. The BIGGEST THREAT TO OUR COUNTRY and he just fired everybody. And I see people sayin the left has blood on their hands. Just stop!! The right has no leg to stand on regarding crime, there are so many things they could do different if they did.

Cooking the books like a business. Like that’s going to change the outcome.

The only violence coming from the left is a violent call for unity.

A violent or virulent call for unity?

Let’s unite with the MAGA by calling their president a fascist, dictator, pedophile. Let’s unite by calling the assassination “horrible” and “disgusting “ and we are so sad…. BUT….

But what?

There is no but about what happened!

You call people on the right fascist and you dehumanize them. Don’t know anything more fascist than that.

Don’t be claiming the moral high ground when you never even listened to a word Charlie said!

Charlie was a uniter!

You are far from that by judging someone who I can guarantee you never even heard.

The biggest threat to our country is people like you who judge others by the hat they wear!

It’s not that you can’t handle the truth…. You can’t even handle challenging or potentially constructive dialogue which is what Charlie espoused.

Facebook User 4 Nice Projection. You know how I know. I haven’t called your pres anything other than a pedo protector. I haven’t typed the word fascist in over 2 weeks. Do you even know what a fascist is? I’ll enlighten you, Your the one projecting fascist and dictator, guilty conscience??

But but but what yes, I agree there are no buts about what you speak.

Charlie was a uniter? That’s just ignorant and shows how much you know about Charlie. Huh? With all due respect. He was literally killed because of the hate he fomented. Have you seen the killers texts yet? It’ll probably take awhile for fox to come up with some kind of narrative as to why a gay white dude from a gun toting MAGA family took out Charlie but you’ll see soon enough

“ The biggest threat to our country is people like you who judge others by the hat they wear!”

Says the guy whos president just got approved by the SCUTUS to racially profile the shit out our country

“You can’t even handle challenging or potentially constructive dialogue which is what Charlie espoused.”

More crazy talk proving you haven’t read a word I’ve typed I’ve been literally begging for Facebook User 1 to try and defend his position and assertations for 2 days. I’d be willing to that with you but I don’t think you have the temerity

BTW heres a definition of what fascist means

He refused to accept a democratic loss and spread lies about fraud.

He pressured state officials (e.g., Georgia’s secretary of state) to “find votes.”

He pushed Mike Pence to break the Constitution by rejecting certified results.

He then encouraged a mob that stormed the Capitol to stop the transfer of power.

This combination—rejecting democratic outcomes, demanding loyalty to the leader over the law, and using mass mobilization with violence to maintain power—is exactly the kind of authoritarian behavior that scholars like Robert Paxton (author of The Anatomy of Fascism) describe as fascistic.

Once again…. I can tell you never watched or listened to Charlie cause if you did you’d have a different perspective unless you are a callous brainwashed kook. You never watched or listened to a full context video of him and you got no facts. It takes balls to listen to debate and deduce facts and opinions on your own. I stand with my convictions that Charlie was not a racist or a fascist or all this bs You claim him to be but I cant converse with you cause you never saw the movie.

Really touching story, look it up. I’ve always had respect for him. OK what facts do you want to talk about? We can bring this to your page and I promise I won’t call you any names no ad hominem attacks. The kind of discussions where bartenders learn more than their TVs tell them

Paul Fitz-Gibbon III I have no problem with that. I really don’t care about any of the Trump bashing. It’s about Charlie to me. If you listened to him and you still think he’s a racist then I don’t think we will ever see eye to eye. I like bourbon but beer is just fine.

Facebook User 4 WTF? Where did I call him a racist? Now you just making shit up and trying to shift the narrative - where did you learn that?

I'm bummed for Charlie and his Friends. That was just so wrong. Reading those casual texts from that duche bag to his gay lover about murdering someone is just sickening - We can all agree on that, but he wasn't exactly a saint like the right is making him out to be. A great leader? Absolutely! As you know, he also had a lot of radical viewpoints

I agreed with him on some things, others not so much. We've all seen the stuff he stood for recently - yes, some taken out of context a little ON BOTH SIDES. The thing about Charlie is everything he stood for is online in his own words, so there's that. I've seen short 20 sec Charlie clips of him seemingly making a great point and then cutting out only to see the persons response on other news sources. As you know, Cambridge students come to mind. If it's about Charlie for you then we can stop. I know there is way too much pain and raw emotion still. I respect that. For me it's about Democracy, Decency and a Fuctioning Republic ALL of which are at risk right now IMHO.

Fascism? Has anyone at the news media you consume been put in jail for their views? Has the government come down on anyone who disagrees with them? Is the view still on the air and their left wing agenda still earning Whoopi money? Show me where the Fascism is bro!!

THREE DAYS LATER   CRICKETS?  CRICKETS? CRICKETS?  CRICKETS? CRICKETS? CRICKETS? CRICKETS?
Paul Fitz-Gibbon III  >> Facebook User 1
This is not about being right or wrong it’s about understanding.  I’m not going to crow about crickets but the silence is deafening.  For those that havn’t seen it, it should be required reading – but please read my reply as well  Scroll down Facebook User1 page to Sept 14th

“(Warning: long rant) My liberal friends are completely oblivious”

Facebook User2 and Greg H (who blocked me because he was so flustered) whose utter inability to defend any of his misleading stmnts and divisive words (I blame our leaders Rhetoric, that’s not the Facebook User1 I know) should cause everyone to look inside right now.   I think everyone in the middle needs to ask why there is no response to what I posted, and think very hard if this is what they voted for.  Seriously mid terms are coming up, baby needs new shoes…..er I mean bike needs new knobbies.

PLEASE start paying attention watch the other sides news see what they are saying.

forget Faux and MSNBC Try some non traditional sources on Youtube, Brian Taylor Cohen, Miedas Touch, Adam Mockler, Glen Kirscner, then try Alex Jones Infowars and Steve Bannons War Room, and def listen to JD on Charlies show, if last night was any indication they should be very telling just make sure the batteries are fresh in your bullshit detector and remember Google or Grok is your friend Use Them!  What are you watching? who else should I watch?

Try and figure out which side is being more inflammatory and truthful cause that really does matter so do facts.  Use reasoning.  I’ll do the same, let me know where you guys are getting your info from?  How sure are you that its true how often do you fact check?

BTW, If someone can find any misinformation, I may be spreading inadvertently please point it out, I just want to learn and understand, but bring facts no blanket ad hominen stmnts.  I recommend if something really triggers you look where the other side is coming from.  Also use Elons AIs search engine Grok.  Its hilarious when Elon disputes trump.

BTW Facebook User 1 I appreciate your restraint on your page today and always love your nostalgic posts.  NFM I’ll go away now – at least till the mid terms.
